Our History

DB Wood was established as a privately-owned Wealth Management business by three founding partners on 1st January 1976. Since then, we have consistently aimed to provide client solutions that help them achieve their objectives. We have been continually evolving and improving, but our ultimate aim remains consistent. We moved to the marketplace in Arnold, Nottingham, with six staff in 1993. In 2005, Ashley Brooks, our current CEO, joined the business. Since then, we have established an Investment Committee and launched DB Wood Model Portfolios in 2009, acquired Newark Insurance Services in 2008, and launched Financial Planning propositions in 2012. We acquired Gallimore Associates in 2014, surpassed 200M in Assets under Management in 2015, and launched our Discretionary Investment Management service in 2016. In 2017, we relocated and opened our Newark office at Potterdyke House.
